Jonathan Willens specializes in complex litigation, representing individuals and corporations in the state and federal courts in New York. An experienced litigator and trial lawyer, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of disputes concerning securities fraud, employment law, intellectual property, bank regulation, health care fraud and other issues.
Mr. Willens has practiced law in New York City since 1986, when he joined Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. In 1995, Mr. Willens joined the civil division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York as an Assistant United States Attorney. For five years, he represented the government in tort and contract cases, fraud claims under the False Claims Act, employment discrimination, Freedom of Information Act and constitutional issues.
Mr. Willens opened his own practice in September 2000. In March 2004, he moved into the offices of a prominent Manhattan firm, Doar Rieck & Mack (www.doarlaw.com). The combination of experienced attorneys and excellent support staff has allowed Mr. Willens to handle larger and more complex cases.
